General Surgery

In this department, which constitutes one of the most basic building blocks of surgical science, treatment is applied for various diseases by using the knowledge obtained from anatomy, physiology, pathology and surgical techniques together. General surgery is a technical discipline that includes the treatment of systemic and local problems in the body with surgical methods, as well as wound healing, metabolic and endocrine response to injury, and has influenced many surgical and basic medicine branches in terms of their development. 

Within this branch, which operates in every part of the body with its basic principle, surgical procedures are performed for both treatment and diagnostic purposes.
Health problems occurring in many organs and structures such as the stomach, esophagus (esophagus), small and large intestines, anus and surrounding structures, liver, gallbladder and biliary tract are within the field of interest of general surgery.
