Opr.Dr.Ömer ARIKAN was born in Eskişehir in 1958. After graduating from Diyarakır Medical Faculty in 1982, he did his compulsory service as a general practitioner in Bursa Orhaneli District for two years. In 1988, he completed his specialization in General Surgery at S.S.K.Istanbul Hospital.
He worked in the training staff in the surgical clinics of Kilis State, Kartal State, S.S.K. Göztepe Hospitals respectively. After 1992, he worked as Chief Physician and General Surgery specialist in private hospitals including V.K.V. Amerian Hospital. UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center)
2024- Currently, he is on general surgery duty at Akademic Hospital.
He worked as an observer at Nortwestern University, Baku, Azerbaijan from 2013 to 2023.
As of October 2023, he started to serve as a General Surgery Specialist (Consultant Physician) at Medera Clinic.
