Brain, Nerve and Spine Surgery Specialist

Dr. Gökhan Gökçe, assistant professor, neurosurgeon, was born in 1970 in Malatya. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Malatya. In 1988, he enrolled in the medical faculty of Ege University and graduated with honors in 1994, earning the title of medical doctor. From 1994 to 1996, he completed his mandatory service at the Ministry of Health in Malatya as an education coordinator, collaborating with the Faculty of Education at Middle East Technical University, where he provided training for nurses and primary care physicians.

In 1997, he began his specialization in neurosurgery at Gülhane Numune Education and Research Hospital, obtaining the status of a neurosurgery specialist in 2004. In 2012, he enrolled in the master’s program in health management at Istanbul University Okan, completing his master’s degree in health management in 2018 under the supervision of Professor Mithat Kiyak, presenting a dissertation titled “Impact of the Health Transformation Program on the Turkish Healthcare System.”

From 2003 to 2004, he worked in Istanbul in the field of accreditation and overall healthcare quality management. From 2004 to 2006, he worked at Malatya Private Hospital Müjde as a neurosurgery specialist, and from 2006 to 2009, he served as the deputy chief physician and neurosurgeon at Malatya Private Hospital Gevde. From 2009 to 2012, he was the project coordinator for the establishment and licensing of the Universal Malatya German Hospital. In 2009, he also worked at Malatya State Hospital as the chief specialist in neurosurgery.

From 2010 to 2021, he worked at Malatya Education and Research Hospital. Since 2021, he has been the head of the Department of Neurosurgery and an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Turgut Özal University. Since 2023, he has been working at MEDERA СLINIC. Dr. Gökhan is a member of the Turkish Society of Neurosurgery, the Working Group on Education and Teaching in Spinal Surgery of the Turkish Society of Neurosurgery, and a member of the Turkish Medical Association (TMA).
